Camp Wood, to Vanderpool to Kerrville, Texas
Vanderpool is a beautiful place. We stayed in private cabins located in a secluded valley somewhere in the hill country of Texas. This place had no internet or phone communications. It was a short day on the bike, but there were three steep climbs, some grades were at 12%. The next morning when we had to leave Vanderpool for Kerrville, we were all exhausted from the day before. Some of the women, who were tired from the day before took the SAG to the top of the first climb which was 1.3 miles high. I was one of them. Got out of the SAG on the top of the mountain, and cycled down the other side, which to me is worse than climbing. Some of the bends were sharp and dangerous. Tonight we are staying in a very nice hotel in Kerrville and have the day of tomorrow. Yippee. We are actually half way through TEXAS, and halfway cross country. That is quite remarkable.
