LIVING MY DREAM

On March 5th, 2010 at age 69, I will begin a
cycling adventure from San Diego, California to St.Augustine Florida. The two month, 3098 mile journey will cross the 'southern tier' of the United States and end on April 30th, 2010. I will post my progress, location, and photographs whenever possible.

Mother of two sons, Tony and Mark Lonero. Tony an ultracyclist lives in Italy and Mark here in Pittsburgh. Retired from the Veterans Administration at age 55 and have not looked back. I am truly blessed with a great family,wonderful friends, and good health.

DAY 12 SILVER CITY, NEW MEXICO

Another crazy day on the tour.  Climbed for 14 miles with my brakes rubbing.  Thought my legs were burned out, but it was the brakes.   My bike is now in a bike shop in Silver City, New Mexico.    It´s a good thing we have a day off from cycling tomorrow and I can get my bike repaired.  Crossed the Continental Divide today.  This is a cozy little town.  Looking forward to checking out the small shops tomorrow. (Check out the cyclist in the photo climbing up the mountain.)  Second photo shows COWHIDE table cloths in a restaurant where we had lunch in Duncan, New Mexico.

    Great looking weather and route. Spirits sound high though the body is challenged! Keep on truckin'. Hope you are drinking more water. Paul

    Still following your progress and sending good karma. Looks like you'll be in Texas by the first of next week. And a long time in TX. Hang-in and keep living (and enjoying) your dream.
